The 4th Annual
Hobuck Hoedown was a resounding success, with two delightful days of wonderful waves, rousing racing, and superlative surfing. We have posted a link to
Rob Casey's Flickr photo album on our
photos and videos page.
This year's
Hobuck Hoedown
will be the second officially sanctioned paddle surf (kayak, waveski, SUP, etc.) competition at
Hobuck Beach. Please join us October 2-3, 2010 for an exciting weekend
of fun. This is a surf
festival, not just a competition.
Hobuck offers great camping, cabins, fresh air, clean water, miles of beaches, and a
beautiful view. More details (and last year's results) can be found at
Olympic Raft and Kayak. Photos from last year's event can be found on
Rob Casey's Flickr site.
The event organizers say:
This year we've added two races in scramble format to the Saturday
afternoon menu. In separate events for sea kayakers and SUP paddlers,
we'll send you dashing across the beach carrying your craft to launch
through the break and race across the bay, around the rocky islands a
half mile from shore, and back to the beach again.
On Sunday, 7 separate events scored by our awesome judges will be held
for HP, International, Waveski, SUP, Whitewater, Sit-on-top, and sea
kayaks. Enter just one or all 7.
We can also use some volunteers to help with setup/ takedown, food/
refreshments, timing the Saturday races, recording scores on Sunday, and
providing safety backup. Please register for the event as a volunteer
if you'd like to help out.
